I am a practitioner of New Thought/Ancient Wisdom, AND I smile when I recall looking around my bedroom and realizing that I had seven images of the Divine Mother surrounding me in my sanctuary. Until that moment, I had been pretty unconscious about my deep affinity for the Sacred Feminine,. As Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes speaks of her, “she who is gently fierce and fiercely gentle.”
Certainly, these times call for energy such as this– gently fierce and fiercely gentle. In the midst of uncertainty and change-that-does-not-stop, I must be gentle, ever so gentle, with those who suffer grief and loss, fear and anxiety. Beyond the headlines that flash on the TV screen, there is a person going through a profoundly difficult time. Let my compassion, comfort and commitment meet them where they are. Let me be strong enough—fierce enough in my loving– to be a place of solidity and support for them. May my mind and heart be so clear that the Truth that is known in me is known everywhere in the universe and manifest now right where they are.
In these times when violence and injustice seem to escalate, I must be gently fierce as I exercise the power within me to transform that which is not Love. Gentle and fearless, resisting brutality, refusing to back down or give up, unwaveringly persistent, insistent for change, like the Lady of Heaven, I am an immoveable force before those who would do harm.
When I am seeking comfort and wisdom, I remember that she who is the Mother of All stands with me, with us. Divine Mother is alive in/as me as I let her great power flow through me. Her Spirit is greater than any obstacle! No power can stand against her Love. No thing can extinguish her Light.
Affirmation: I call forth the Great Mother energy in me. I am fiercely gentle as I comfort those in pain. I am gently fierce as I work for love and justice.
